Josh Stein Files Candidacy For North Carolina Governor 

Earlier today, Attorney General and candidate for Governor Josh Stein officially filed his candidacy for governor of North Carolina. He was joined by his wife, Anna.

“I’m running for Governor because I believe in the promise of this state – that if you work hard, where you come from should never limit how far you can go – but that promise is at stake in this election,” said Attorney General and candidate for Governor Josh Stein. “After months of meeting with voters across our state, I am more fired up than ever to make good on the promise of North Carolina and work to deliver on the issues that matter to people’s everyday lives.”  

Throughout 2023, Josh has been criss-crossing the state meeting with North Carolinians and learning more about their priorities for the state. He has met with community college leaders, small business owners, farmers, and students from the east to the west. Stein is committed to building a state with a thriving economy, safe communities, and strong schools for all North Carolinians. 

Stein announced his campaign in January with endorsements from more than 150 former and current elected officials and has since earned the support of Governor Roy Cooper, North Carolina AFL-CIO, NCAE, League of Conservation Voters, Let America Vote / End Citizens United, and Reproductive Freedom For All.
