Josh Stein and Governor Roy Cooper Rally UNC Chapel Hill Students as Early Voting Continues
As early voting continues across North Carolina, Attorney General and Democratic nominee for Governor Josh Stein and Governor Roy Cooper fired up UNC-Chapel Hill students to vote early and spread the word about the importance of the election.
“This election is about young people’s futures,” said Attorney General and Democratic nominee for Governor Josh Stein. “As Governor, I will continue to strengthen our public schools, create economic opportunity, and protect our fundamental freedoms.”
“It’s always good to be back at Carolina, and I’m heartened to see tremendous youth turnout across our state,” said Governor Roy Cooper. “Students know that Josh Stein is the candidate who will build a positive future in North Carolina, and it’s clear: Tar Heels are fired up to elect Democratic candidates up and down the ballot.”
Throughout the campaign, Josh Stein has prioritized hearing from young voters and students across the state. In January on UNC-Chapel Hill’s campus, Stein launched “Students for Stein,” a coalition of hundreds of students supporting his vision for North Carolina and has received the endorsement of the Daily Tar Heel editorial board. This month, he also held a rally with Congressman Jeff Jackson at Eastern Carolina University and held a virtual press conference with student media outlets to answer student journalist questions and hear about their concerns and priorities.
