Wilmington Star News: “How Josh Stein’s family values set the groundwork for his bid to be NC governor”
A new profile in the Wilmington Star-News highlights how Attorney General and Democratic nominee for Governor Josh Stein’s faith and family have inspired his career in public service.
Raised with a “a sense of responsibility to make [his community] a better place” and guided by the Hebrew phrase “tikkun olam,” meaning that “everyone has a responsibility to heal the world,” Stein began his career at “Self-Help Credit Union helping create affordable housing” and “with the North Carolina Minority Support Center helping small businesses.”
Described as “‘your average dad’ who’s really proud of his kids” and “fundamentally good and caring and generous,” Stein is ready to lead in a bipartisan environment, “pointing to the work he’s done as attorney general working with both sides of the aisle.”
The story comes as Josh is closing out his campaign focused “on unity and progress” and sharing his vision for a safer, stronger North Carolina, including raising teacher pay and increasing funding to recruit and retain more law enforcement officers.
