Wilkes County Native Zach Galifianakis, AG Josh Stein Team Up To Rally Voters In Raleigh, Organize Relief Efforts For Western North Carolina

Today, Wilkes County native Zach Galifianakis teamed up with Attorney General and Democratic nominee for Governor Josh Stein to rally voters in Raleigh ahead of the November election and encourage folks to contribute to Hurricane Helene relief efforts for areas like Zach’s hometown in western North Carolina.

“It will take months, even years, for many of these communities to recover, and we must stand beside them until the job is done,” said Attorney General Josh Stein. “As Governor, I am ready to roll up my sleeves and dig in because North Carolinians deserve someone in the Governor’s office who will put them first.”

Galifianakis, who was born in North Wilkesboro, also spoke of the damage to his own community caused by Hurricane Helene.

“When times are tough, North Carolinians always come together to help their neighbors,” said Zach Galifianakis. “It couldn’t be more important for everyone to vote and ensure we have a strong, steady leader like Josh Stein to get us through this difficult recovery.”

As Attorney General, Stein has spent the past week investigating more than 200 complaints of price gouging related to fuel, groceries, and hotels. As Governor, he will ensure relief and recovery reaches every corner of western North Carolina and work to invest in resilient infrastructure that is equipped to handle the impacts of future natural disasters.
