Josh Stein Launches Republicans for Stein
“I believe in character, honesty, care, and respect for all people. Robinson doesn’t believe in those values.”
This morning, Attorney General and Democratic nominee for Governor Josh Stein launched “Republicans for Stein,” a group of former and current Republican elected officials and voters who are putting politics aside to stand for a safer, stronger North Carolina. Josh was joined in Raleigh by former North Carolina State Senator Richard Stevens, and business leaders David Daggett and Parker Wilson, who support his common-sense leadership.
The coalition, which launches with more than 50 North Carolinians so far, also includes former State Senator Jim Davis and former State Representatives Chuck Neely, Charles “Chuck” McGrady, David Guice, and Will Neumann.
“As North Carolinians, we have more in common than what divides us,” said Attorney General and Democratic nominee for Governor Josh Stein. “We all want strong schools, safe communities, and meaningful job opportunities. And no party has a monopoly on good ideas to achieve these goals. When we work together to fight for them, we accomplish more for the people of North Carolina. If you share the same conviction, there is a home for you in this campaign, whether you’re a Democratic, Republican or Unaffiliated voter.”
Stein has a record of working across the aisle to deliver for North Carolina, including eliminating the rape kit backlog, tackling the opioid and fentanyl crisis, and passing legislation to give child victims of sexual abuse their day in court.
“I’ve seen Josh up close and personal – how he thinks, strategizes, and operates. He has the right values, and he knows how to govern,” said former State Senator Richard Stevens. “I encourage my fellow Republicans and indeed all voters to truly consider who they want to be the face of our state and our leader for the next four years.”
“I am both a woman and a business leader — and Mark Robinson will be bad for both,” said business leader Parker Wilson. “Josh Stein is going to make our state stronger, safer, and a better place to live for everyone – not just those he deems appropriate.”
“I believe in character, honesty, care, and respect for all people. Robinson doesn’t believe in those values,” said business leader David Daggett. “As Attorney General, Josh Stein has fought for safety in our communities, he’s fought for education, and he’s fought to make our economy in North Carolina stronger. He knows how to take care of North Carolina and how to usher North Carolina into the future safer and stronger. ”
