Josh Stein For North Carolina Launches “Veterans for Stein,” Highlights Plans To Support North Carolina’s Veterans & Families
Today in Fayetteville, Attorney General and Democratic nominee for Governor Josh Stein launched “Veterans for Stein,” a coalition of veterans supporting his vision for a safer, stronger state that supports the more than 700,000 veterans who call North Carolina home. Stein was joined by Maryland Governor and U.S. Army veteran Wes Moore.
“Those who served in our armed forces are among the best our country has to offer, and they deserve our gratitude, not only when they protect our interests around the world, but also when they come home,” said Attorney General and Democratic nominee for Governor Josh Stein. “As Attorney General, I have taken on scammers who prey on servicemembers and veterans and worked to protect the GI benefits they have earned. As Governor, I am committed to ensuring North Carolina remains the most veteran-friendly state in America.”
“Josh Stein has consistently stood up for veterans as North Carolina’s Attorney General, and I know he will lead in the same way as Governor,” said Maryland Governor and U.S. Army veteran Wes Moore. “North Carolina servicemembers, veterans, and their families are counting on his record of results and his commitment to tackling challenges head-on.”
During the event, Stein heard stories from veterans and discussed his plans to strengthen North Carolina’s status as the most military and veteran-friendly state in the nation, including addressing affordable housing, supporting pathways to employment, and investing in mental and physical health care.
This week, Josh will travel to Winston-Salem to host a veterans roundtable and hear from veterans regarding their concerns and priorities for North Carolina’s next governor. He will also visit Wilmington to tour Canines for Service, which trains service dogs for veterans, and stop by Apple Annie’s Bakery, a veteran-owned business.
