Josh Stein: Don’t Defund North Carolina Public Schools

In response to Governor Cooper declaring a state of emergency for public schools in North Carolina, Attorney General and candidate for Governor Josh Stein released the following statement: 

“Our kids need strong schools that prepare them for the jobs of the future. Instead, they’ve gotten leaders who want to defund public education to cut corporate taxes and subsidize wealthy parents sending their kids to unaccountable private schools. As Governor, I’ll always fight to strengthen public education in North Carolina because where you start should never determine how far you can go.”
