Josh Stein Applauds SCOTUS Decision Rejecting Mifepristone Challenge

Today, Attorney General and Democratic nominee for Governor Josh Stein released the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s 9-0 decision to reject a challenge to mifepristone access:

“I applaud the U.S. Supreme Court’s unanimous decision that preserves women’s access to mifepristone. It also preserves our recent win here in North Carolina defending that access. Deciding to have a baby is the most personal decision a woman can make. That’s why as Attorney General, I fought back against the legislature’s dangerous and extreme abortion ban that sought to control women and make it harder to access safe, effective medication abortion. 

“As Governor, I’ll continue the fight to protect women’s reproductive freedom because extreme politicians like Mark Robinson are not done yet. Mark Robinson has made it clear he does not respect women and if given the chance, would sign a total abortion ban with no exceptions. This November, North Carolinians must vote to protect women from his fringe agenda that would drag our state even further backward.”
