In Abortion Ban Anniversary Video, Rep. Diamond Staton-Williams Shares Support For Josh Stein & Highlights Stakes For Women In #NCGOV Election

On the anniversary of Republicans’ abortion ban in North Carolina yesterday, State Representative Diamond Staton-Williams shared her personal abortion story and highlighted the importance of electing Josh Stein as Governor to continue fighting for women’s reproductive health care.
In her story, Rep. Staton-Williams highlighted Attorney General Stein’s record of defending reproductive freedom, saying, “He is willing to go to bat for women…He is listening to us, and he understands what is at stake for us.”
As Attorney General, Stein has fought to protect medication abortion, emergency room care for pregnant women in distress, and veterans’ access to abortion. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson has repeatedly expressed support for a total abortion ban with no exceptions.
