As SB20 Goes Into Effect, A Reminder That Mark Robinson Supports A Total Abortion Ban With No Exceptions

Tomorrow, SB20 will go into effect and women across North Carolina will have fewer rights and freedoms than they’ve had in the last 50 years. This anti-abortion law will impose intrusive, burdensome, and unreasonable requirements on women and their health care providers.

Attorney General Josh Stein has made it clear that these are decisions that should be made by women after talking with their doctor and their loved ones – not by politicians in Raleigh. But as the law goes into effect tomorrow, North Carolinians deserve to be reminded that the GOP frontrunner in the race for governor would give the government even more control over women and take anti-abortion restrictions even further.

“In 2024, North Carolina’s voters will have a crystal-clear choice between a defender of women’s reproductive freedoms and an extremist who wants a total ban abortion even in the case of rape or incest,” said Kate Frauenfelder, a spokeswoman for Josh Stein for North Carolina. “Next November, women across the Tar Heel State will come out in full force to support Attorney General Josh Stein and ensure North Carolina’s governor remains a fierce advocate for their rights.”
