As “Crowded” GOP Primary Heats Up, Attorney General Stein Solidifies Strong NC Support
While Republican gubernatorial candidates brace for a costly and bruising primary fight that exposes their extreme and out of touch agenda, Attorney General Josh Stein continues to be in a strong position with key endorsements, robust fundraising, and a record of accomplishment on issues that matter to North Carolinians.
“The enthusiasm for Attorney General Stein is a direct result of his relentless commitment to fight and deliver for the people of North Carolina on the issues that matter to their daily lives,” said Jeff Allen, campaign manager for Stein. “This campaign is powered by countless North Carolinians who want to ensure that we elect Josh governor and build a safer, stronger North Carolina.”
Stein is beginning his campaign with deep support from Democrats. More than 150 of North Carolina’s former and current elected officials have endorsed him, including former Governor Jim Hunt, Justice Anita Earls, and former Congressman G.K. Butterfield. He entered the race with nearly $4 million cash on hand and continues to build momentum as people across the state learn more about his record taking on big fights on behalf of the people of the Tar Heel State.
Protecting the people of North Carolina is job number one. Attorney General Stein has led the effort to fight for victims of sexual assault by working to eliminate the backlog of untested rape kits, taken on opioids manufacturers and Big Pharma and made them pay, held polluters accountable for poisoning our air and water, and led the nation to hold Juul accountable for sparking a teen vaping epidemic.
