Top Law Enforcement Officials Endorse Josh Stein for Attorney General

Today, law enforcement officials from all across North Carolina announce their support of Josh Stein for Attorney General.
Thirty Sheriffs and District Attorneys representing rural and urban counties throughout the state are endorsing Stein to become the state’s chief law enforcement officer.
“I’m proud to have the support of so many Sheriffs and District Attorneys,” Stein said. “These men and women go to work every day to make our communities safer. As Attorney General, I will work closely with them and all of law enforcement to protect the people of North Carolina.”

Stein served as Senior Deputy Attorney General for eight years in the North Carolina Department of Justice prior to serving in the state Senate for the better part of four terms.
As Senior Deputy Attorney General, Stein worked to protect children from sexual predators, helped run payday lenders out of North Carolina, and took on telemarketing marketing scammers who preyed on seniors.
In the state Senate, Stein wrote the School Safety Act to protect kids at school, authored legislation to protect women and children from domestic violence, and led efforts to put rapists behind bars by expanding our DNA database.
